Inflow, outflow rise in Hunza Lake; heli service on

HUNZA: The inflow and outflow of water in Hunza Lake is continue on surge whereas heli service in upper parts of the upper Hunza is going on today.

According to official sources, the inflow of water in the lake has been exceeded from 5,000 cusecs due to melting of glacier. More than 5,000 cusec water discharge has been recorded at spillway.

On the other hand, the lake level has been decreased to two inches. The helicopter service for relief work is underway in Galmat, Shishkat and Phasu areas.Also, Gilgit-Hunza section has been opened for traffic from 7:00 am to 4: pm.

Water outflow reaches 4800 cusecs:

HUNZA: The accident-accelerated lake in Ata Abad is receiving and discharging the same amount of water, which stalled the spread of water of the Lake in low-lying areas of Gojal tehsil, Geo News reported Sunday.
According to government sources, the inflow and outflow at the Lake has reached 4800 cusecs.  Meanwhile, helicopter and boat services, which were suspended on bad weather, have been resumed partially today. The Hunza-Gilgit section of Karakoram Highway, which was closed owing to bad weather conditions, was kept open till 4pm yesterday.
Zonal Manager Utility Stores Corporation Majid Swati told that the edibles have been dispatched to the affected areas.
Meantime, Advisor to Prime Minister Asima Alamgir arrived in Gilgit. DC Hunza Zafar Waqar Taj said the Lake situation was under control and hence, the spillway breakdown was out of question.

Ata Abad Lake outpours 4500 cusecs of water:

HUNZA: Ata Abad Lake is persistently making outflow of 4000 cusecs from the Spillway; while, Karakoram Highway section from Gilgit to Hunza will remain open till 4pm this evening, Geo News reported Saturday.

The outpouring from the Spillway stands at 4150 cusecs and the seepage is 350 cusecs, which adds up to 4500 cusecs of outflow from the Lake, which is receiving 5000 cusecs in contrast.

The Gilgit-Hunza section of Karakoram Highway, which was blocked yesterday thanks to the bad weather, will be kept open till 4pm this evening.

The administration said if clear weather prevailed, the helicopter service would be resumed today for the affectees of Gilgit and Hunza.

Meantime, the administration said the boat service previously announced for the Upper Hunza areas of Gilmat, Shashkat, Hussaini and Phassu, would be would be resumed today if the weather turned conducive.
